More About Mr. Miyagi

Miyagi was played by Pat Morita, who earned an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor nomination for his performance in The Karate Kid.

The Karate Kid movie is the story of a teenage boy named Daniel LaRusso (played by Ralph Macchio) who moves to a new city with his mother.

When Daniel starts getting bullied by karate black belt, Johnny (William Zabka), Daniel asks his apartment’s handyman, Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita) to teach him how to fight and defend himself.
